Frequently Asked Questions
What is Kid’s Clinic? How is it different from a normal virtual consultation with a GP?
Kid’s Clinic is our dedicated teleconsult service specially designed for children aged 0-6. Kid’s Clinic was created to ensure that infants and young children can receive 24/7 direct access to child-friendly GPs who provide age-appropriate treatment and advice tailored to their needs. Your little one will also be able to get prescriptions for kid-friendly medication tailored to their age and weight and seamless referrals to paediatricians or specialists if required.
Are the doctors available in the Kid’s Clinic paediatricians?
The doctors available in Kid’s Clinic are general practitioners. However, they are experienced in treating common health issues in infants and young children, and are equipped to provide safe and reliable care and prescriptions for your little one. If needed, they can also provide referrals to paediatricians or specialists.
What happens if my child needs a physical exam or treatment?
If the doctor assesses that a physical examination or in-person care is required, you will be guided to either:
- Book a Doctor House Call for a visit at your home for non-urgent cases.
- Visit a clinic or hospital
You will not be charged for the teleconsult portion if the case cannot be managed online.
What kind of conditions can be handled via teleconsult for young children?
Some common conditions we can support include:
- Coughs, colds & fevers
- Rash, eczema, insect bites
- Diarrhoea & vomiting (mild/moderate)
- Allergies & URTI
- Minor injuries (bruises, sprains)
- Urinary symptoms
If symptoms are severe or need physical assessment, a doctor may advise a clinic or hospital visit.
How fast is the medication delivery?
For prescriptions following a teleconsult or House Call, we offer 3-hour islandwide delivery for your child’s medications (subject to stock availability and delivery conditions).
Can I use subsidised schemes like CHAS or Baby Bonus?
The CHAS and Baby Bonus schemes are not applicable for teleconsults. There are other eligible vaccinations and services whereby you may apply CHAS or CDA (Child Development Account) schemes where applicable.
Do I need a separate DA account for my child?
Yes. Each child needs their own DA account so that their medical records and consult history are kept distinct and secure. Parents can manage or link multiple child accounts under one parent login.
Can teleconsult issue medical leave (MC) for my child?
Yes, doctors can issue an MC when clinically appropriate during a teleconsult or House Call. Let the doctor know your request during consultation.
Can my child use the normal GP virtual consultation service instead of the Kid's Clinic?
For children aged 0-6, consultations are only available through the Kid’s Clinic. This is to ensure that your little one always receives care designed specifically for their age and stage of development.
Is telehealth safe for emergencies?
Telehealth is not suitable for emergencies. In situations such as severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, unresponsiveness, or seizures—please call 995 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
