Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which health checks I need?
DA Health Screening packages are tailored to age and gender. However, there are other factors like family history and lifestyle that may influence your choice. If you are not sure which screening to select, click here to find the package best suited to you.
Can I add on tests?
Yes, it is possible to add additional health checks and tests such as an abdomen ultrasound scan, or a blood sample test to measure vitamin D levels. For the list of available add-on tests, please click here. You can request to add on your preferred tests during your health screening appointment.
Tests that require radiology exams, such as x-rays and ultrasounds, are done at our partnering centres. Our staff will assist you with booking your appointment during your screening appointment. Do note that transportation costs to the partnering centres are not included in the screening package.
Do I need to fast before my health screening?
Fasting is not required for DA health screening packages, based on general health screening guidelines by Ministry of Health (MOH).
Are non-fasting tests reliable?
Yes non-fasting screenings are medically proven to be reliable and accurate.
For Blood Sugar (Glucose) Testing: The HbA1c test is used in non-fasting screening. The test works by measuring the amount of glucose that is attached to your red blood cells and gives you an average level over the previous 2 – 3 months, instead of focusing on the specific screening day. As a screening test for diabetes, it is as reliable as a fasting test.
For Blood Cholesterol Testing: There is no significant difference in cholesterol levels measured between non-fasting and fasting tests.
How are urine and stool samples collected?
Home-based: Once your appointment is confirmed, the specimen containers will be mailed to your home address, along with instructions for you.
In-clinic: If you have opted in for a urine and/or stool test, the specimen containers will be provided to you on the day of your appointment.
If you are unable to produce the required samples during your appointment, you can drop off your samples at the clinic on another day when they are ready. Please only provide same-day samples.
