Can I have a COVID-19 PCR Swab Test at the clinic without an appointment if I have the necessary documentation?
It is recommended that you make an appointment for your COVID-19 PCR Swab Test with us, so that we can serve you without delay.
You can have a COVID-19 PCR Swab Test on a walk-in basis, provided you furnish the necessary documentation:
– NRIC or Passport
– Flight details (for travellers)
Please note that we may have to serve those with appointments first, prior to attending to you.
What is the required testing window for a COVID-19 PCR Swab Test if I am travelling?
The required testing window is calculated based on your flight timing. You should be present at our clinic for your COVID-19 PCR Swab Test at least 48 or 72 hours prior to your flight (whichever is applicable based on requirements set out by your destination country).
We can still proceed with your swab test if it’s within 48 hours of your flight. However, do understand that there is the chance that the result may not be ready in time for your flight, and you may not be able to proceed with your departure
Can I do a home-based PCR test at my workplace or hotel?
We can carry out the Covid-19 PCR test at your place of work or hotel. However, you’ll need to arrange for MOH approval first due to safety protocols, in order for the swab to be carried out in your office or hotel room.

Why do you need my NRIC and/or Passport for the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test? What about local address and email/handphone number?
Verification of your physical NRIC and/or Passport is part of our protocol. Your results memo will reflect these particulars. Your local address and handphone number are necessary to facilitate contact tracing in the event that your test result is positive.
If the traveller’s flight timing has changed, and the flight details indicated on the approval letter is different from the revised flight schedule, does the traveller need to re-seek approval?
You do not need to re-seek an approval for the revised flight timing in the event that your flight timing is changed. Your approval letter may thus indicate a flight timing that is different from your revised flight schedule.
Please note that the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test shall be conducted no less than 48 hours before your revised flight timing.
On arrival at our clinic, you will need to show:

Why are travellers to China required to take different tests?
Entry requirements into China include both a negative PCR swab test and a negative N protein antibody test/IgM antibody serology test.
Vaccination type and status affects the results of the antibody test, due to the proteins being detected by the test. Different antibody tests may be administered, depending on your vaccination type and status:
– Unvaccinated travellers or those vaccinated with Sinovac & Sinopharm: PCR swab test & igM
– Travellers vaccinated with Pfizer-BioTech and Moderna: PCR swab test & N protein antibody test
Can I get a COVID-19 PCR Swab Test even if I’m not travelling? I do not have an approval letter, but I feel unwell. Can I do a voluntary swab test?
The COVID-19 PCR Swab Test can be conducted for any individuals on a voluntary basis, no approval letter is necessary. The costs of the test is however, not subsidized by Ministry of Health (MOH).
DA clinics are PHPC accredited. Our doctors continue to conduct swab tests where indicated in the course of seeing patients whom have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 infection.
What happens after the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test?
The COVID-19 PCR Swab Test takes 15 minutes to complete. You are advised to reduce contact with other individuals to lessen the chance of contracting COVID-19 before the swab test results are out.
We will email the results memo to you within 4 hrs of us receiving it. In the event that the result is positive or inconclusive, we will contact you via phone.
You are advised to print hardcopies of your results and bring it with you overseas.
What if I want a hard copy of the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test results?
You may request a hardcopy of the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test results at the clinic which you did the swab test at. No additional charges apply.
What if the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test results fail to be ready on time?
DA works with authorized laboratory partners appointed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) for COVID-19 PCR Swab Tests. It is possible that delays may occur in the transport and processing of specimen as well as in the delivery of results.
In the event that the results cannot be furnished within 4 hours of your departure due to exigencies of service on the part of DA and/or our laboratory partners, we will refund the full cost of the test.
DA and/or the partner laboratories shall not be held responsible or liable in any way for any claims, damages, losses, expenses, costs or liabilities whatsoever (including, without limitation, any direct or indirect damages for costs, loss of income, revenue or profits, business interruption) resulting or arising directly or indirectly from your use of our test services.
The terms and conditions of our COVID-19 PCR Swab Test service will be shared with you at the point of registration for your review and acceptance before the test.
What if I need additional memos apart from the standard memos for COVID-19 PCR Swab Test results?
DA will provide the standardised COVID-19 PCR Swab Test results memo as guided by the Ministry of Health (MOH). We do not routinely raise additional memos pertaining to swab tests.
If you should need additional memos, kindly raise them to our staff prior to the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test. Additional memos are subject to the nature of the request and/or additional charges.
What if the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test result is positive?
In the event that the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test result is positive, we will not be able to issue a memo for fitness to travel. We will contact you to make arrangements for an urgent referral to NCID for subsequent care and management.
What if the COVID-19 PCR Swab Test result is inconclusive?
The COVID-19 PCR Swab Test results may return as inconclusive. In the event that occurs, a repeat test may be conducted and is chargeable. Should this result affect your departure, DA and/or the appointed laboratories vendor(s) shall not be held responsible or liable for any claims, damages, losses, expenses, costs or liabilities.
Serology Test
Why do I need to do a serology test?
The serology test detects antibodies generated in response to the vaccine. A positive serology test result, on top with vaccination documents, proves that the individual had received effective vaccination against COVID-19.
What do I need to prepare for the test?
You would need proof of your identity (such as NRIC or passport) as well as provide your overseas vaccination documents for our team to verify.
What should I do if my serology test result is negative?
A negative serology test may mean that your overseas vaccination was not effective and may be unable to protect you from COVID-19 infection. MOH advises these individuals to be vaccinated again in Singapore or to call the MOH COVID-19 hotline (1800-333-9999) for further assistance.
Work pass holders will have to take 2 doses of PSAR-approved vaccine in Singapore within 3 months of the negative serology test result. You can register for vaccination here or call the MOH COVID-19 hotline for assistance.
Is it safe for me to re-take the COVID-19 vaccination if my serology test result is negative?
There are no known safety issues with taking the COVID-19 vaccination again. However, some may experience stronger side effects such as injection site pain, muscle aches and fever.
Can I take a different brand of COVID-19 vaccine if I need to be vaccinated again?
Yes, the individual can be vaccinated with a different brand of COVID-19 vaccine from what they were previously vaccinated with. They can be vaccinated under the national vaccination programme. For further assistance and clarification, they can call the MOH COVID-19 hotline (1800-333-9999).
Do I need to pay for the vaccination if I have to be vaccinated again because of my serology result?
COVID-19 vaccination is free for all Singaporeans and long-term residents in Singapore, if they are eligible, under the national vaccination programme.
Should individuals vaccinated in Singapore request for a serology test to confirm that their vaccination was effective?
For individuals vaccinated in Singapore, there is no need to verify your vaccination status. Serology testing is not required.
Where can I view my overseas COVID-19 vaccination records/ status?
You can view your vaccination records on either the HealthHub app or TraceTogether app if you had verified by a certified medical provider, along with a positive serology test.
Individuals who took the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty or Moderna vaccine overseas can view their records on the HealthHub and TraceTogether app, within 2 days of verifying their vaccination status with a medical provider.
Individuals who took other WHO EUL vaccines (e.g. AstraZeneca, Janssen, Sinopharm, Sinovac) can view their records on the HealthHub app, within 2 days of verifying their vaccination status with a medical provider. MOH is working on having test status reflected on the TraceTogether app by end-August 2021.

What if I would like to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
After our team has contacted you for confirmation on the date and time of appointment, you will not be able to reschedule or cancel the appointment, no refund is allowed.
