If you’re feeling a little guilty after all that Chinese New Year feasting and snacking, why not go for a good run or outdoor adventure along Singapore’s beautiful landscapes and lush greenery? There are a few mesmerizing routes tucked away in our island’s corners, but believe it or not, some are also right in front of your eyes! We’ve shortlisted the top 5 running routes around the island. Pick your favourite, lace up your shoes, and let’s go burn some calories!

1. Fullerton/Marina Bay

Lined with bustling bars, lavish restaurants and stylish skyscrapers, the Fullerton/Marina Bay area is one of the best spots for running. Start from the contemporary Fullerton Bay Hotel, and continue past the resident Merlion and Esplanade. Cross the Helix Bridge to get to the iconic Marina Bay Sands, before circling back to Fullerton bay Hotel. You’ll not only get to enjoy the panoramic view of the city bay, the circular parameter also makes it easy to track your progress based on the number of laps!

2. Coney Island

Home to coastal forests, a rich biodiversity of wildlife and a wide range of habitats, Coney Island is one of our favourite scenic places in Singapore. Sitting on an island off Punggol, Coney Island is also a sweet spot for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers. Here, you’ll have the chance to experience the island’s lush greenery, white sand beaches and rustic woodlands, all in one run!

3. Gardens By The Bay

It’s never a dull moment when you’re surrounded by colourful nature. Decked with beautiful gardens, eclectic Supertrees and dome-shaped greenhouses, Gardens by the Bay will give your run a futuristic and vibrant feel to it. There are maps around certain checkpoints in the Gardens so you can plan your route. With a sumptuous meal at Satay by the Bay waiting for you, you’ve got another motivation to run hard and well!

4. The Southern Ridges

If you’re looking for a little bit of a hike together with your run, try this place out. The 10 km trail is paved with suspended walkways, towering canopies and scenic views of the city. The route may be long, but we recommend you to carry on until crossing the unique Henderson Waves bridge – a structure not to be missed!

5. Pulau Ubin

Escape the hectic city life by getting on a 10 minute bumboat ride to a peaceful, serene jungle filled with flora and fauna. Pulau Ubin is Singapore’s preserved island that’s home to the wetlands of Chek Jawa, traditional kampung villages, beautiful quarries and abundant wildlife. The humble little island gives you an immersive experience into what Singapore was like in the 1960s, and also serves as a perfect running spot!
