5 years ago in 2017, a small team of dreamers with big ideas got together in a tiny 300 sqft office space in an industrial area in Singapore. They were fueled by a mission to transform healthcare: to build an inclusive, borderless ecosystem where users can access reliable and affordable healthcare services – anytime, anywhere.
5 years on, we have weathered plenty of ups and downs. From the early struggles of establishing our credibility and gaining our partners’ trust to working with national healthcare regulators to define industry guidelines, we were privileged to be the early trailblazers in the regional telehealth landscape.
The greatest challenge came in the form of the biggest public health crisis of this century: Covid-19. The strength of our team’s competence and resolve were put to the test. At the height of the pandemic, we raced against time to provide timely and reliable medical support to the local communities. We also worked with government agencies to design and deploy new healthcare solutions to provide support and help ease the strain on the public health system.
It’s been an incredible ride. We emerged from this journey with some battle scars, but stronger as a team and even more convinced of the importance of our work. Notably, we’ve helped millions of people feel better without leaving their homes, administered more than 200,000 Covid-19 tests and provided medical support for tens of thousands of Covid-19 patients on home quarantine.
Today, Doctor Anywhere is one of the fastest-growing healthcare providers in the region. We’ve grown our company to more than 600 employees, across 6 countries in Southeast Asia. We are a team of engineers, coders, designers, healthcare ecosystem creators and healthcare front-liners from diverse backgrounds. We are pragmatic dreamers, and also persistent doers. Where we are today is a testament to our team’s enduring spirit and work ethic.
