Catching Covid-19 can be a disorienting experience — especially if we’re not quite sure of what the latest care protocols are. We’re here to help! Here’s a quick overview of what you should do after testing positive for Covid-19.
Generally, there are two main protocols, depending on whether you are feeling well or if you are a high-risk individual.
- High-risk individuals include: individuals who are younger than 3 years old or 70 years old and above; pregnant individuals; persons who are immunocompromised, who have undergone organ transplant surgery or have been diagnosed with cancer before; persons who are on dialysis, persons who have HIV or AIDS
Most importantly, remember to stay hydrated and get lots of sleep to help your body recover faster. You can also see a doctor anytime over the DA app for medication, delivered straight to your doorstep.

If you are feeling well or have mild symptoms
- Day 1: Begin your self isolation at home, making sure to keep your distance from your household members. Refer to our guide here to see how you can keep your loved ones safe, even while isolating at home with them.
- For medication, see a doctor on the DA app and have medication delivered to your home.
- If you want your results to be officially logged on HealthHub, you can do an online supervised ART on the DA app. All you’ll need to do is prepare 2 sets of unused ART kits and our swab supervisors will guide you through the process.
- Day 4 (after 72 hours of self-isolation): You can exit your self isolation if you test negative on an ART kit. If you’re still testing positive, you’ll need to continue isolating within your household.
- Day 7 (for fully vaccinated individuals) or Day 14 (for partially or unvaccinated individuals): You can exist self-isolation at 12 noon.
If you are feeling unwell or are a high-risk individual
- Day 1: Visit a doctor and undergo a healthcare-administered ART and PCR swab. Depending on your condition, your doctor may send you to a hospital for further assessment.
- You will either be placed under the Home Recovery Programme, or be conveyed to a care facility.
- If you are eligible for the Home Recovery Programme, you can follow the same steps above.
- If you are ineligible for the Home Recovery Programme, you’ll be informed in a few days of how you’ll be conveyed to an appropriate care facility.
